The CBR500R is redrawn with direct sports influence from the CBR1000RR Fireblade. Its sharper, more aggressive lines also incorporate unique aerodynamic winglets. And the view forward from the cockpit is pure sports, with clip-on handlebars mounted below the top bridge and inverse LCD dash. The fuel tank has an innovative design that simultaneously increases capacity (for improved cruising distance) and cuts down on bulk.

The CBR500R features a powerful twin-cylinder engine to give you unmatched power. You won’t ever have to choose between a bike with lightning-fast acceleration from a standing start and one that can take you on a thrilling chase through the slick six-speed gearbox at high rpm. The CBR500R gives you both. This is what freedom is all about.

Just like its larger CBR siblings, an Assist/Slipper Clutch eases upshifts and prevents rear wheel lock-up on hard downshifts. And to give you an even sportier ride, torque has been increased by 3 to 4 percent in low- to mid-speed ranges of between 3,000 and 7,000 rpm.

The CBR500R features a new inverse-display LCD dash with Gear Position indicator. When tackling aggressive riding conditions, the handlebars mount below the top bridge, allowing you to maintain an optimal level of control. The 41mm telescopic fork is adjustable for spring preload, as is the Pro-Link rear monoshock. Full LED lighting, including indicators, is a premium finishing touch. Ready. Set. GO.

FAST STEERING

The steel diamond-tube frame has a tuned rigidity balance to enhance feedback to the rider. The engine is close to the swingarm pivot point for fast steering and easy handling. Seat height is an easy-to-manage 785mm. You own the road. Get out and explore it.

ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION

Whether you feel like taking a leisurely trip along countryside lanes or racing down the motorway, the new CBR500R features adjustable suspension to match your journey. 41mm telescopic forks deliver a smooth and controlled ride. The Pro-Link monoshock rear suspension features 5-stage spring pre-load adjustment and works through a rigid box-section swingarm. With this setup, anything is possible

LIGHTWEIGHT WHEELS

The new CBR500R has been designed to give you optimum manoeuvrability at high speeds. The lightweight 17-inch cast aluminium wheels feature hollow cross-section Y-shaped spokes. The front tyre is a 120/70-ZR17 and the rear a 160/60-ZR17, giving you a great balance between good grip and light, neutral steering. Now you can explore any territory.

BRAKING CONTROL

Weather conditions should never stop you from riding. That’s why we’ve equipped the new CBR500R with a single front 320mm wavy disc and powerful two-piston brake caliper, matched to a 240mm rear disc and single-piston caliper. 2-channel ABS is fitted as standard, managing braking force on wet or dry roads.

INFORMATION DISPLAY

The new CBR500R features an attractive negative-display LCD dash. All the information you need is now easily accessible and clearly and concisely presented.
