Motorcycles and scooters are exempt from Congestion Charges
To drive a car into London's central congestion charge zone in a car or commercial vehicle during a weekday costs £8 per day.
The good news is that motorcycles and scooters are exempt from these charges!
There are occasional rumours about motorcycles and scooters losing the congestion charge exeption but our investigations have shown this to be highly unlikely. The technology used requires a front number plate, not to mention the fact that motorcycles and scooters do not create congestion. If you enter this zone every week day for a year there is the potential that changing from a car to a motorcycle or scooter will save you £2000 in congestion charges alone. This is £800 more than our entry level Zip 50! When you then compare the cost of insurance, road tax, annual depreciation of the vehicle, servicing costs and parking charges.
There really is no comparison between cars and scooters in an urban environment such as London. Scooters are cheaper to run, give you more flexibility, save you time, and are more environmentally friendly.
